Approval of De Novo Bank: Loyal Trust Bank, Johns Creek, Georgia


Johns Creek, GA — Today the Department of Banking and Finance, State of Georgia approved the de novo community bank charter of Loyal Trust Bank, In Organization (“I.O.”). Subject to the granting of deposit insurance by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, Loyal Trust Bank, I.O. is expected to open no later than year-end 2019 with minimum capital of $20 million. The application was filed on March 11, 2019 with the FDIC and the Georgia Department of Banking and Finance. 

The bank will be the first and only multi-cultural, Asian American Bank headquartered in the Johns Creek market and will serve the surrounding area with a hi-touch and hi-tech community banking style for business and consumer customers. 

The Chief Executive Officer and President of Loyal Trust Bank, I.O. is Charles G. Brown, III.  Additionally, Renee Hinkson is the Chief Financial Officer.  Organizers are Bill Abernathy, Julin Gu, Rose Jarboe, John Lewis Jr., Edward Oh, Hyong (James) Park, Bo Shen, Dong Wang, and Yimin Yang.

Chris Johnson and Nancy LaFoy of Brightlane Partners LLC were the lead consultants in the organizational effort and assisted the organizing group in its application filing. The group’s legal representation is James Stevens and Brenna Sheffield with Troutman Sanders LLP.
