American Banker: De novo field widens with S.C. group’s application

Brightlane Partners Owner and Managing Director Chris Johnson provided comments in a June 8, 2017 article from the American Banker on the expanding interest in de novo bank formations stemming from a new application in Charleston, South Carolina. Chris was interviewed by reporter John Reosti for the story.

Brightlane Partners has seen a steady increase in the interest in new bank formations and bank re-formations from groups looking to pair innovative financial services with the benefits that accompany owning a bank charter. Johnson believes that “as more and more organizing groups come public with their applications, [he] thinks that is is building positive momentum for [other] groups that were sitting on an idea.”
